Rstronaut T-shirts: The Journey

Revuto’s Rstronaut staking pool series that took place in summer and spring of 2022 generated a lot of interest within our community. Staking in all 8 of our mission planet pools meant earning amazing rewards in select Cardano Native Tokens, a special NFT, and, last but not least, an Rstronaut t-shirt.

The t-shirt order form was sent to eligible Rstronauts back in September. Email notifications of eligibility were sent individually since we knew that the t-shirts were an exclusive perk available only to those who staked in all 8 staking pool plants in our Rstronaut campaign. Sometimes Revutonians can be a little bit too enthusiastic to share messages, offers, and order forms that were supposed to be exclusive. As such, the order form ended up being shared and filled out by community members who were not eligible for t-shirts. This meant that we needed extra time to sort through all responses submitted on the order form and that all needed to be done manually. Delays for ordering t-shirts ensued as we sorted through the mess.

Once sample t-shirts were ordered, it was determined that the sizes of the shirts weren’t what we expected. Our CEO Vex loves t-shirts and is always ready to try a new one on and test it out for durability. When he got his hands on the first batch of Rstronaut T-shirts, it was clear that the size L that he usually wears needed to be sized up to an XL.

Of course, the first thought when you try on clothes that are your size and find they don’t fit is that you need to hit the gym. But as other Revuto team members tried on the shirts, it became clear that it was the sizes of the items that were not quite what they should have been. So the decision was made to size up everyone’s shirt to make sure that they could be worn by their proud owners.

Next came the process of shipping. We decided to use a third party for this as we had t-shirts to send out to 36 different countries. We were offered what we thought was a great deal. Unfortunately, this third party was unable to process the shirts as we had expected to. It was then decided that the best course of action was to send them out ourselves. We consulted with a number of international shipping companies, but the rate they were offering was not favorable by any means. This is why we decided to ship out the shirts the proverbial old-fashioned way — with the postal service.

Hrvatska pošta was very helpful in explaining to us everything that we needed to do to prepare our parcels for shipping. This included filling out (by hand) a mailing form for each and every package.

Once we took matters into our own hands, everything was more or less smooth sailing. The shirts have all been sent and it has been very exciting for Rstronauts to share pictures of their merch.
